Sy Ari Da Kid – Ultrasound 2 Mixtape Review

Firstly, hosted by DJ Scream, the Trap-A-Holics, DJ Iceberg and DJ S.R., this tape has solid production cover to cover from producers like Tony Gardner, Freddie Foxx, L’s and more. The production for this tape has a smooth besides the track “Popular.” One of the other stand out joints is the very first, “Coming Home”.

Most tracks were centered around what he has seen in life; an autobiographical nature. Stories of friends and family are prevalent. Although it’s not bar for bar lyrical he does have excellent storytelling skills. Listeners who know the game will definitely have themes common and others who do not will still feel hypnotized.

Most of the hooks were promising and demonstrate potentially great songwriting.

The stand out tracks to are, in no particular order.

“Coming Home” showcases his raw emotion, which is something a lot of artist lack down south especially.
On “Stick and Stones” Sy Ari flowed on this track perfectly.
“Popular” shows his presence isn’t all lyrics and he maintains a believable mainstream appeal too. The feature from up-and-coming artist K Camp is bookended by two very good verses that held their own. “Blasphemous Prayers” is a must listen if you like deep thought and philosophical lyrics in your hip-hop.

“God made Adam and Eve, the devil got niggas battling greed, Martin Luther had him queen, you a fool if you think that all he had was dream.”
– Lyrics from “Blasphemous Prayers”
