Unapologetic, seductive, and motivational are three words that describes this Savannah, GA native’s music. Straying away from your average rap music, Steeley (also known as Steeley 2 Legit) is bringing something more to the table than your regular Atlanta rapper. Implementing different hooks, beats and topics, it is obvious that he has an understanding of how versatile you need to be in order to stand out from other rappers in the race to make their mark.
Like many upcoming artists, rapping became a hobby for Steeley until began to take it seriously as a teen. Now, having an understanding of who he is and how he wants others to see him, he’s staying true to himself while pushing his single “Don’t Stop It” off his mixtape “Still Legit”.
“I want the masses to know that real n*ggas come in different shapes and sizes; not just n*ggas you see on the block…it is OK to feel emotion, that is what music is for. I want them to know they can be something besides a trendy rapper or a pretend n*gga on the block.”
Well, if that is his purpose, point well taken. This record is nothing less than a record that can be played in your car, your crib or the club so he is definitely onto something that is sustainable. After all, Georgia needs more sustainable rappers right? And according to Steeley himself once he gets in the door, it will be hard to get rid of him.
