Born in Jamaica and raised in Virginia, Soundboy Kwad is not your average rapper. As if his voice isn’t impressive enough, how about co-signs (and unreleased music) with artists like Bizzy Banks, Xanman, Lil Keed, PnB Rock and Big Flock? On top of that, Kwad‘s already turned down a deal from Pusha T and continues to fund and refine his craft independently.
“BAGS FR” is a great introduction to Soundboy Kwad if you don’t already know him; it’s a slow-paced yet intense song that speaks volumes about his ability. The video (shot by Grand Vision Films) is gritty, while still flaunting Kwad‘s polished fashion sense. It seems pretty clear that Elevator‘s rocking with Kwad, and they’re not alone.
