Patrick Cc is a YouTuber who has a series called, “Locked In,” where he interviews an artist and also vlogs the music creation process that the artist goes through. His latest installation of the series features Jelani Imani. He is an underground artist that makes melodic music. In the episode, Patrick said that Jelani Imani basically works by himself. Jelani confirms this and says that he produces, writes, mixes and masters a lot of his songs.
The two released “cloudy,” a heartfelt song with a guitar intro where Jelani Imani explains how he needs to stand out against the rest of the artists in his lane. This song proves just that.
The other song, “exactly what we need,” is a smoother song that displays Jelani Imani’s gifted singing. The song has a somber first half, but after the beat slowly fades out and vocals crescendo, the listener is given a happier feeling to take them to the end of the song.
