Durham, North Carolina has some fresh faces coming on the scene. One of which is Kid Infamous who released his newest project ‘The Infamous Life’. With inspirations from artists Kendrick Lamar, J.Cole, Tupac, Biggie, and Jay-Z he took on the responsibility to bring some of that artistry to the Bull City with his project. “I wanted to put things into perspective. Sometimes, artists can’t afford to invest in themselves, because they have to put real life situations first. Some days, you might get inspired to write a song based on your personal feelings, but the words aren’t connecting with your emotions.”
Every artist goes through writers block. Sometimes to a point where they want to express emotions through music, but the words don’t connect to how they really feel. Kid Infamous song “Writer’s Block” explains his frustration to the listener and inside his mind during the process of writing a song. He raps, “I’m so blind about to say f–k rap, just kick rocks/ A&Rs don’t want it, If it ain’t top notch/ Crossing out every single word that I jot/ This rate I’ll never make it the top, man I think I got.”
