Four months after the release of his No More Amateur Records EP, Hip-Hop artist Jordan Chude releases his authoritative loose single, “The Return.” Produced by MAndD Productions and mixed and mastered by Ethan Kaufman, the instrumental’s choir sample coupled with its boom bap drum kit provides an earnest atmosphere for Chude, whose energy through out the song’s entirety shines without compromising his lyrical wit. The chorus, with lines lines like, “Little homie I’ve returned/not a not of nights left before I finally get what I deserve,” are further complimented by Chude’s ambitious verses. Serving as Chude’s first release since his return from his four month study abroad in Paris, France, “The Return” not only signifies a new, more focused direction in Chude’s music but also in his career.
“The Return” is preceded by his first project in over a year, his No More Amateur Records EP. Beginning as a bi-weekly series of singles in August 2014, the No More Amateur Records EP (NMAR), which he wrote in 2014 and released in February 2015, revolves around Chude’s heightened standard for his music and re-commitment to delivering his best work. His pledge ran through his study abroad, where he wrote a verse and a hook every day abroad, resulting in 50+ songs. As Chude prepares to redefine his career, he continues to perform regularly, write daily and choose from his vast repertoire of songs to release.
