Raised in Boston, a city not best known for its hip hop history, artist Gio Dee was determined to make a name for himself from the start. A debut project in 2011 followed by his 2012 release “Fashionably Late” put Gio’s team on the map for New England, and encouraged them to go the distance — literally.
Gio left Boston for San Francisco last year to explore and dominate the untapped niches of California’s hip hop scene. He brings a fresh attitude and swag to the Cali game as an incredibly talented and well-rounded musician. Not only does he rap, but has a solid resumé in songwriting and audio engineering as well.
As Gio Dee progresses as a young artist with star quality, his new EP “Never Going Back” is the perfect tale of the rapper’s personal journey of growth — a reminder of the story that made him, but an inspiration to always move forward.
