Ever since Meek Mill released “Wins and Losses,” he had the streets going crazy! His track contained the song ”We Ball” which featured Young Thug. Meek and Young Thug’s track was mainly dedicated to Lil Snupe and Dex Osama, who were very close to Meek Mill’s camp. Meek Mill’s track caught the eyes of G Herbo who had released his own remix of the song. Herb’s remix went in depth into the stress and pain that he had to go through after losing his close friend, Kobe. In his remix, Herb states, “I seen Kobe die, that was my young n*gga, he was right out in front of McDonald’s with them slugs in em.” The emotional tribute was mainly dedicated to Kobe, whose birth name is Jacoby Herron. Kobe was murdered on August 10, 2013. He had multiple bullet wounds in his body outside of a McDonald’s restaurant. Herb made sure to show love to his closest friends who had passed away. He talked about how he wished that they could one day have ”won together.” Herb went into details about his previous shootouts and the pain he felt knowing he lost someone close to him. The Chicago rapper made sure to let his listeners try to understand what he had gone through. Herb has always been known for his street sound and deep painful past. This has led him to release meaningful projects like such as the one previously stated above. You can hear the pain that flows out of Herb’s voice when he goes into details about the violence he experienced along with his loyal soldiers who had fallen. Herb listed names of people from his camp that had been snatched away from him due to violence. He has dedicated a lot of time and effort to let his listeners know that those members had a heavy impact on his music. The pain that Herb brings to the flow of his music is exactly what separates him from so many rappers. It is clear to see that Herb made sure to let everyone know that he can snap on any beat.
