Summer 2015 is shaping up to be a season filled with hard work and dedication to hip hop, and Chicago producer IBCLASSIC is no exception. IB recently teamed up with Chicago underground sensation MC Tree for the new single “Kinfolk”.
MC Tree comes to the rap game with a story unlike most. Growing up in the Cabrini-Green housing project of Chicago, young Tree took an interest in music at an early age. It wasn’t until he was 27 that he released a project professionally and stole the attention of many in Chicago’s independent hip hop scene. Tree’s friendships with Project Mayhem and Danny Brown have brought him to the limelight of the rap game, reaching millions of fans with recognition on MTV, Complex, Fader, Spin and more, after just 3 project releases.
Tree’s passion for music are matched by the south side’s talented producer, I.B.C.L.A.S.S.I.C. A deep love and drive for family heavily influences I.B.’s musical process — appropriately, his kinfolk. And fans can always count on IB to bring a smooth, soulful style to the flavor of hip hop, making this collab with Tree a perfect addition to your favorite Chicago playlist. I.B.’s work with Tree, Saba Pivot and Chicago’s Treated Crew have given us a promising preview of what’s to come from I.B.’s next project, #WhenAllElseFails, dropping next month.
