Songwriter/vocalist COOPER is introduced to the music scene with his Ep, M.I.O.C [My Interpretation of California] a 5-track audio-series of a Southerner’s first visit to the west coast. Describing himself as a “silly little virgin” prior to his travels, the Atlanta-bred vocalist blends avant-garde production, live instruments and smooth vocals to describe the experiences a country boy’s first time Californicating.
COOPER opens with the introduction to a real-life dream. After getting you intoxicated with psychedelic encounters of West-coast women, drugs and groovy night-life, you’ll awaken to calming acoustics and reflections of a newfound devotion to this distant euphoria.
Released Spring 2014, the project features production collaborations from teammates J. Padron, 737 ENT, composer Josh Sarles and a few quick guest cameos.
South Atlanta Gold Gang affiliate made his initial debut in 2012 with his appearance on “Team Vacation,” a track featured on comrade Trinidad James’ first mixtape. The product of a 70’s cover band member mother and a prominent hustler father, COOPER channels his hereditary street experience and musical talent to create a Southern G-Funk sound. His impressive raw sound is complemented with sensual low tones and flawless falsetto to create this 5-track diary of smoking music.
