‘Her Song’ is a release from producer ’Ashcon’ and features rapper Twist wasting no time in painting a picture of the situation he’s faced with as he comes to grips with an unrequited love affair. Twist immediately sheds light on her interest in him as well as his musical background, and how this begins to counteract his attempts to fight his feelings whilst simultaneously trying to ‘play it cool’. We see Twist delve into deeper emotional thoughts as he considers his intentions to be on the road chasing his dreams, whilst the reality of balancing it all and keeping a love affair alive becomes impractical. Met by a silky smooth chorus, courtesy of R&B feature ‘Pierre Hopkins’, his high reverberant vocals bring the song to life when coincided by the explosive drums and progressive production of ‘Ashcon’.
‘Her Song’ exercises the scenario of being caught up in the emotion of a love interest that may be the answer to depression and self-doubt, but also puts a spanner in the works in the attempt to chase a dream.
